Mechabellum Phoenix Counter: Anti-Air & Chaff Screens
A Phoenix matchup guide with candidate anti-air answers and the conditions that make each one vulnerable. This page separates current official facts from community examples and unknown version-sensitive details.
Community matchup reports list Fortress with anti-air, Wasps, Mustangs, Fangs, and sometimes Marksmen as possible Phoenix answers. Pick based on the rest of the enemy board: Mustangs can be answered by ground pressure, and Marksmen need chaff or another screen to keep shooting.

Recommended approach
Identify whether Phoenix is flanking, attacking from the backline, or supporting another push. Place anti-air where it can connect without being overwhelmed, and screen it from the ground units that would otherwise remove it.
A counter is working when Phoenix cannot reach your valuable units or is removed while your screen remains intact. If the anti-air loses to support, fix the support matchup before increasing anti-air supply.
What changes the answer
The supplied Tarantula–Phoenix video is a pairing example. Do not infer a fixed Phoenix counter from a single clip; use the current tech and board state to select an option.
Version and evidence boundary
The counter recommendations are historical community reports, not a post-2.0 developer ranking. Exact anti-air damage and technology effects are not asserted without live version evidence.
