Mechabellum Mustang Counter: Chaff Clear, Splash & Armor
A Mustang response guide that separates older community recommendations from the live opponent tech and support on the board. This page separates current official facts from community examples and unknown version-sensitive details.
The captured community guide lists Arclights and Sledgehammers as early responses, Stormcallers against Mustangs paired with slower units, and armored units or giants as later pressure. A community tutorial also shows Fortress–Mustang as a build, which is why the enemy’s support matters.

Recommended approach
Check whether the Mustangs are massed, what they are protecting, and whether they have an armor technology. Use an early chaff-clear option when the board is small; use a durable frontline or splash pressure when the opponent has invested heavily, while keeping a response to the support units.
Your answer is working when the Mustangs cannot freely clear your screen or damage your backline. If armor tech negates rapid-fire damage, pivot away from a same-profile answer instead of buying more of it.
What changes the answer
Stormcallers are reported as stronger when Mustangs sit behind slow units; Arclight or Sledgehammer can serve a double role early. Verify range, armor, and tech details in the current tooltip.
Version and evidence boundary
The community guide and Reddit posts are older than the current 2.0 launch window. These are matchup candidates; no post-2.0 win rate or universal counter is asserted.
